Examples of Assessment.

I use observation, anecdotal notes, formal testing and student self reflection as my methods of assessment.
Assessment "for" Pre assessment is crucial as it can personalise learning for students and ensure that all ability levels are catered for. It also guides my planning of a topic. I may undertake pre assessment by using a KWL strategy or brainstorming a topic during circle time.
Assessment "of" I use VELS and other assessment methodology to guide my practice. I attach an example of narrative assessment of a group of grade 2 students and a quiz used at the end of a unit of work on tessellation.
Assessment "as" I encourage my students to become self regulated learners by encouraging self assessment I have attached images above showing a maths journal used with Grade 2 students and a self assessment writing example to download.
