Teachers are active members of their profession.
Throughout life we are continually learning and so it is important for a teacher to remain up-to-date with and aware of current teaching practices and professional development opportunities.
As a graduating student I have endeavoured to build on my experience by attending various professional development sessions organised by the VIEU and the AEU. In addition in order to build upon my whole class teaching skills, I volunteered at Valkstone Primary during my school holidays and provided relief to Grades 1, 2 and 6 which was an excellent opportunity to assess and reflect on my skills in an unfamiliar environment.

I have also attended lecture series held by Melbourne and Monash University about the future of education that have greatly assisted in my critical thinking about my future profession and role in the wider community.
